Photography Upstairs

The Upstairs Gallery presents a photographic exhibition in collaboration with the Auckland Festival of Photography.

Maxine Parkin-Jones opens her exhibition entitled Blacker than White. Photography is a new and exciting medium for Maxine after a lifes work in textiles, fibres, ceramics, abstract paintings, fibre sculpture and window dressing. She is excited to share the processes and knowlegde she has learnt with old and new techniques from Photoshop to the dark room. Her photography includes photograms, negative and positive images of the Nikau Palm photographed in the Waitakeres and Waiheke Island over a period of twelve months.

Joining Maxine is Tatiana Harper with her collection of photographs taken on film with her two favourite cameras: Canon AL-1 and Mamiya C 33.
