Senior Design Lead - Palmerston North

This is a great opportunity for a Graphic and Brand Designer based in Palmerston North working with one of NZ’s strongest regional brands in the Real Estate sector. Are you local to Palmerston North, Wellington or Wanganui-based and looking to relocate for a change of scene, or in fact anywhere in New Zealand but keen for a change?

Critical to this role is the ability to lead the team, make decisions and function as the brand guardian, leading the design direction and roll out of design. You will be at the senior level and have had experience leading a team.

As a dynamic and talented senior designer, you will join this busy creative team and lead the design direction of the commercial and property management businesses. You will possess an amazing eye for great design, clinical attention to detail and can demonstrate your ability across all areas of design.

Joining a ten-person design team you will be responsible for delivering outstanding creativity. Exceptional time management and great people skills are a must. You will be tasked with delivering standout marketing material that will help position our salespeople, branches, divisions, and brand ahead of our competitors.

You will have at least 5+ years’ professional experience, advanced level skills in Adobe Creative Suite with a particular focus on InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, additional skills in video production and web advantageous.

This role will also have you working with a design team of ten. Leading the in-house studios art direction, providing creative direction on big brand and campaign communications, hands-on design skills across a variety of digital and traditional mediums, improving the design team capabilities and production, managing concepts from creation to completion, and leading design best practice through the creation and delivery of content that elevates the brand in a competitive marketplace.

You bring:

• Minimum of 5 years working in an advertising or design studio, or in-house creative team
• Experience mentoring young creatives is advantageous

• Strong conceptual design thinking
• Lead the art direction and construct beautiful design across all mediums for the brand
• Mentor other designers with confidence
• Continuously improve the design team’s production capabilities
• Lead design innovation consistent with company strategy and direction
• Confident in adhering to and developing brand tone of voice/brand messaging
• Strong design skills across typography, layout, and production
• Efficient on the tools, and deadline-driven
• Organising file management with clear and detailed processes
