Creative Developer

Our client is an innovative and pioneering design, research & technology studio. They have a mission to bring together design, research, and engineering to explore and harness the potential of data for the benefit of individuals, society, and the environment.

They are going through an exciting time and are looking for a curious and ambitious Creative Developer to join their team of 16 working a mix of remote at home and in their Shoreditch, London office. This team are a collective of hybrid researchers, designers and developers -  they are looking for applicants who too, don’t necessarily fit within fixed roles. They are particularly interested in people who have experience in experimenting with how data and AI can be applied and make a positive impact.

As their Creative Developer, you will design, build and explore through prototyping – from experiments, to proofs of concept, all the way to delivering end-to-end prototypes for their clients. They build with real data, on real infrastructure and create high-fidelity interfaces. You will work in teams with designers, engineers, and researchers to explore design problems whilst confidently using code to bring ideas to life and iterate on design solutions with a high level of interaction polish.

In this role you will:

  • Bring a deep understanding of AI, understand product/service systems and think within a service and brand context
  • Prototype in the service of exploration and delivery
  • Have a high level of technical understanding & experience in working with data and its technologies and how they can be applied in a real-world context.
  • Be able to design concepts and successfully translate them into apps, tools, websites and interactive experiences.
  • Have an awareness and interest in the advancement of technology and future markets.
  • Be curious, creative and resourceful and have good problem solving skills.
  • Bring a positive professional attitude, balancing proactivity with thoughtfulness and empathy.

 

Regarding technologies and software’s required, you should have experience using some (doesn’t need to be all) of the following:

  • Javascript/HTML/CSS – important and ideally at an advanced level
  • Front-end tech e.g. Vue/Nuxt, React/Next, Svelte
  • Node.js
  • Tailwind
  • Working with LLMs such as GPT-4 and Claude
  • Serverless functions e.g. Lambda, Firebase Functions, Cloudflare Workers
  • Databases e.g. Firebase, SQLite, PostgreSQL, MySQL
  • Figma & Miro

 

The working hours are 4 days a week (32 hours), from Mondays to Thursdays with Fridays off with a hybrid work model of working remotely and onsite at their Shoreditch, London office.
